Dear friends,
C.V. Rajendran's first film, Anubhavam Pudhumai, contained outstanding compositions by Mellisai Mannar. This song is a romantic masterpiece from PBS PSuseela. The voice of PBS in this song will mesmerise you and you will forget yourself totally. This song needs indepth analysis.
Sincerely,
V. Raghavendran

Dear friends
The title to the movie has been a sheer coincidence being the first movie for CVRajendran .It is opportune to recall the cinematography of PNSundaram who has excelled in this song. Minus Sridhar every other technician for this movie was drawn from Chithraalaya stable. No doubt MSV was the "Aasthana MD". Now to the song .Like many other PBS PS duets this piece too has so much of harmonious vibration-- a fascinating feature of all romantic songs from MSV. What is astonishing is the use of chorus interludes for a romantic sequence that happens indoors! Besides, all the five technicians - MSV,CVR, PN S, PBS and PS vie with each other for a due place of pride. The romantic couple float like fragrant vapour from Agarbathis. A marvellous piece of camera work. Why I deem so, is in those days the film stock used for B&W Picturisation was of a rather low ASA value. There were no post-production modification of images. Obviously PN S is a technician par-excellence , lest he should not have been a foil to the doyen A.vincent. MSV and PN S hold us on the edge of the seat in the theatre as we watch this brilliantly orchestrated song. My impoverished knowledge of analysing the intricacies of ragas restrict my adoration. But , certainly this song has umpteen MSV touches and people would get enthralled by listening this composition from every point of view like lyric, music, portrayal, cinematography and direction. Richly musical indeed!
Thanks for introducing to us. Thanks for MSVTIMES for hosting the song for our listening pleasure.
Stunning prelude densely packed counterpoint melody by Chorus and piano!
Sexy, lavish sax passages and piano fill-ins enforce the romantic mood of the composition. Azhagaana lyrics.
Those ‘ pauses’ must be significant, we need to see the scene to understand.
As always Velvety P.B.S and P.S enjoy the glamour!
I read this post two days back!
Postlude Sax passage lures me back to the song! Very Happy
I have been listening to it several times, romba pudichu pochu. Smile
ELEGANT & EMOTIONAL 'Kanavil nadandhadho Kalyana oorvalam...'
Nice, nice Very nice! Very Happy
