Dear Friends,
During the last couple of days I have been watching old songs played in Murasu TV, Jaya Max TV. They have been playing some excellent numbers. I saw "anubhavam pudhumai" , "Nenjaththai ALLikonjam", "Lily malarukku kondattam", Nee ennenna sonnalum", Parakkum pandhu parakkum" , "oru pennai pparthu" -as some numbers that held me spell bound. You may, dismiss it as nothing unusual. For me, it is unusual because, I have listened to every one of these from the very first day they were ever aired in the 6os, 70s and there after on every conceivable occasion. What dragged me into domains other than my 'nostalgia' as a college student and later as a Lecturer, was an overwhelming internal pressure to study these pieces for their compositional value. Yes, what triggers this line of thought at this late time? Look at their freshness. Never a stale feel comes off even as a faint suggestion. Why? Some deeper pursuit is called for. Let us try it. Wait for a day or two for us to 'locate' why is MSV a towering scholar on matters of composition.
Warm regards K.Raman Madurai

Dear Professor,

Economy in shambles. Soaring prices is tormenting the middle class. Fellow country men morale is at lowest ebb. Leading institutions and important leaders of the nation are not coming in the front to solve the vexed problems of the Nation.

In such trying times, MSV music offers panacea. As you have rightly pointed out, works of SHRI MSV is still fresh. To me the music of Shri. MSV is nothing but abstact truth.

Emphasis on pronuncation and using lyrics to full advantage are some of the hall mark of the Master. Looking forward to your incisive analysis
