Dear Friends,
Following are the lyric phrases for the above song:
TMS: muththukkaLo kaNgaL thiththippadhO kannam
sandhiththa vELaiyil sindhikka vE illai thandhuvittEn ennai [pallavi]
pallavi repeated
PS : padiththa pAdam enna? un kaNgaL pArkkum pArvai enna?
pAlil ooriya jAdhippooovai sooda thudippadhenna?
muththukkaLE peNgaL thiththippadhE kannam
sandhiththa vElaiyil sindhikkavE illai thandhu vittEn ennai
Look at the way kaNNadasan has paved the opening for further beautification.
Here after, each singer quickly responds unlike in the opening phase.
TMS: kannippeNNai mella mella thendral thAlatta........
PS: kadalin alaigaL Odi vandhu kAlai nerAtta
TMS : ezhundha inbam enna en eNNam yEngum Ekkam enna?
PS: virundhu kEtpadhenna? adhaiyum viraindhu kEtpadhenna?
Pallavi
PS: Aasai konjam nANam konjam pinnippArppadhenna?
TMS: arugil nadandhu madiyil vizhundhu aadakkEtpadhenna?
PS: malarndha kAdhal enna? un kaigaL mAlai Aavadhenna?
TMS: vAzhai thOraNa mELaththOdu poojai seivadhenna?
PS: muththukkaLE peNgaL............
aa huh huh ha aa huh huh ha oh huh aa oh oh ......
Song ends by gentle withdrawing of orchestration.
The song is a poetic package of questions, affirmative assertions and again permissive questioning and quick responsive submission from either side.
What makes this song -a powerful element is certainly its tune and orchestration which together dominate the listener. It is the very same listening pleasure that drives listener to murmur the lyrical phrases one by one at least over a couple of hearings. This poetry has received its respect through the tune in an excellent course that meanders through wonderful octaves which soak themselves in romance by the sheer nuances of singing, which MSV has brilliantly brought out of the singers. Certainly MSV has showered the richest musical encomium to the phrases of kavi arasu kaNNadasan.
Please wait for more on the same song.

Dear Prof,
Many a times the listner misses the value of lyric in a love duet. Usually the lyric is greatly appreciated in a philoshopical or pathos song. I was also in the clutches of melody only. After reading your posting any one will infer, that kavignar contribution is in equal measure.
I do remember most of the lyric, on account of listening for longer period. However i missed this great line---- Kadalin alaigal odi vandu kalai neeratta. Thank you. |
