Dear friends,
I was just listening to Mukesh's soulful rendering of 'Bahaaron ne mera chaman lootkar...' a couple of days back. I could not get over the singing (of course), and the accompanying music. Something stirred me inside. The song appeared to be beautifully composed (or reconstructed?) by music director Roshan, and I slowly realised this as I carefully listened to the use of flute throughout the song! The combined effects of flute with other instruments (together) sounding in the song 'Saravana Poigayil' by PS in Idhu Sathiyam in 1963CE seems to have been adapted/adopted by Roshan in 1965-66. This Mukesh song too sounds in the similar tune of the PS song making it difficult not to believe the influence of our MM on other music directors. Yet another instance, just to inform our friends what I felt on his everlasting influence on all.
Thanks,
Sai Saravanan
