Vijay TV's Super Singer program for the week end days of 22nd, 23rd and 24th June featured Agrahaaram songs. Not surprisingly, of all the songs presented MSV's 'Theriyaadho noekku?' from Surya Kanthi stood out as extraordinary. Considering that there have been very few songs of MSV in the Brahmin dialect, it is a remarkable feat that remains an unbeatable number. From the very first time I heard this song (probably while watching the film), the predominant feel i have is 'delight.' I am unable to say anything more on this song except that it is a carnatic raagaa based song with MSV's brand of pyrotechnics.
I would request someone to present an analysis of this song detailing its musical characteristics, nuances and novelties.
