Dear Friends,
With "kalaikkoil" holding our attention for its enigmatic status of 'love-hate' record,I thought keeping the thread 'looking back' is also important. So, logically "kAdhalikka nEramillai" is considered for its multidimensional grandeur from every component of movie-making, except the domain of publicity which also has a say by not creating any euphoria or expectation for the product.

Movie house : Chitraalaya
Cinematography: A Vincent
Operative : PN Sundaram
Music Directors: MSV TKR
Editor : NM Sankar

The movie has several 'Firsts' to its credit. The first ever Estman colour film processed at Gemini laboratories Chennai.
The movie relied on 'TREATMENT' for the story was too simple to utilize any heavy acting or melodramatic dialogue.
The success of the movie must primarily go to VR's path breaking music besides certain compositions that rendered 'life' to some singers.
The songs and BGM vied with each other for a place of pride and duly so.
On the star cast, the movie was blend of youth and experience and pairs were so aligned to balance experience with entry level artistes. For Sachu, it was a gamble donning the comedienne role.
For TS Baliah and Rajasree, the movie proved a rejuvenation since both were through a lull in the preceding period.
For the first time Sridhar broke his habit of relying on known heroines
[earlier Saroja Devi, Vaijayanthimala, Vijayakumari, Devika were ON STARCAST of his movies]
It was a clear deviation inducting Kanchana as the heroine. The movie had all the elements of entertainment- youthful exuberance, pleasant picturisation, instant jokes and catchy expressions all in pleasing colours.
The whole movie was shot in locales of Madras and TN especially Aazhiyar dam site near Pollachi. With no technology to fall back upon, all the movie-making crew have lent their heart and soul. Even to-day the movie has a rich following; for, its trend-setting effect is so deep that nothing looks odd. All actors have justified their presence in more than ample measure.
This is just the introduction from where we would branch out into territories to study all the pioneering efforts in this film. As usual all our friends can add their perceptions, making the discussion lively and lovely too.

Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Madurai.
