Dear Friends,
Mr.Marriage is the way MSV calls the violin expert Kalyan as per what Kalyan said during 'thuLLAdha manamum thuLLum' episode last night. He was, understandably full of praise for MSV. He made it clear that 'ONLY MSV has the intricate nuances of composing and none else' was his reiteration.
He played the song 'thamizhukkum amudhendru' and said MSV brilliantly blends different ragas [even in minor bits] to elevate the pleasure of listening. Mr.Kalyan played whole songs 'kaN pOna pOkkilE' and 'pAliruukum pazhamirukkum' with the perfection that MSV would approve of. Those moments proved quite comforting to me with exuberance of brilliance all over. Mr.Kalyan was visibly happy being able to record his personal appreciation for MSV for whom he has played over 1000 songs. He unfailingly recalled how MM used to acknowledge quality work. There are open minded people around in this world of opportunistic sycophants.
Warm regards K.Raman Madurai. _________________ Prof. K. Raman

I watched this program only towards the end, just before he played 'Paalirukkum..' When the compere asked Mr.Kalyan how he was able to play the tunes so perfectly he said that having worked with MSV for more than 1000 songs and having played the songs so many times, his fingers are automatically set on the violin, as it were.
After he came to the end of 'Paalirukkum,' it appeared that he was not willing to come out of the song and repeated the pallavi a couple of times before ending it. The glow of exuberance on his face and the spontaneous expressions of delight on the faces of a few orchestral players spoke volumes about the greatness of this song. I have observed this expression on the faces of several singers including children and the instrument players when they play MSV's songs.
Playing MSV's songs seems to be as much a pleasure to them as listening to them and writing about them are to us. _________________ P Rengaswami (9381409380)
