Dear Mr. Murthy,
The TMS somg you refer to was 'nAn oru rAsiyilla rAjA' and not rOja. The lyric phrase was fabulously misinterpreted as demeaning some one. That way serious discrimination began to isolate TMS. Anyway the loss is not for the singer since by then he had firmly entrenched in the minds of TF audience as a very versatile singer with perfect sruthi alignment, clarity of pronunciation and thoroughness in modulation to convey subtleties of connotation. There was another incidence of suffering for TMS when he had sung a song in his own movie titled "kallum kaniyAgum" that had some brilliant songs dome by MSV. Now I do not remember details there of. Sometimes nostalgia would open up laying bare such details. Then I shall try to narrate it.

'Kallum Kaniyaagum was produced by TMS and AL Raghavan. It failed commercially and brought in considerable financial loss to TMS. (Almost all of MSV's own productions starting from Kalaikovil through Getti Melam (a Kamal Hasan starrer) and Silk Silk Silk to Police Police were commercial failures but MSV seems to have taken these setbacks in their stride!)

I remember two beautiful numbers from this film:

நான் கடவுளைக் கண்டேன் என் குழந்தை வடிவிலே

and

கை விரலில் பிறந்தது நாதம்

I don't remember other songs.

One never gets to hear these songs nowadays. Someone may have recordings of these gems.
