Dear friends,
The song "annai boomi.." is the one from Savale samaali, by our master.
I recently heard a surprise of a duet of MM and Vani Jayaram in Mayor Meenatchi. (I had forgotten this song that I had sometime heard in my school days). The song is "Irundaa nalla iru", sung for KRVijaya and Jai Shankar. A drunk Jai Shankar replies to KRV's admonishments in MM's voice. A rare number. If someone gets it it will be nice to have this as a record!

Every MSVians may be aware that he is the only Music Creator in India who has sung more than 100 (solos and as well duets) songs in films and private albums. [Right from 'Raja Malayasimhan' (late fifties) to date]Some songs which appear in films were not released as records/cassettes.
I will provide the list soon.

Friends,
I had a chance listening of the (probable) hindi remake number of 'Ponaal pogattum podaa'. This was planned and made by Naushad himself, as he was providing music to the remake of the tamil film. He has gone on record many times about the difficulty he had in matching our MM's tunes in the hindi version, and to bring them as lively as the original ones. This particular song with the background humming by our MM has been sung by Mukesh, with the humming by Mahendra Kapoor(Bhool jaa..). Of course, Mahendra Kapoor does not hum, but sings the particular line repeatedly at select intervals, wherever MM's humming was present. The other background sounds by Sadan and co. have been remade by the same team (Sadan & co.), and not very impressive. The song is not very impressive on the whole. I remembered this song as MM's song for his own voice, and hence under this heading.

Dear Sir,
Unique and excellently delivered song from the master. So fluently sung with a majestic and magical voice! Thanks for the discovery. Enjoyed every bit of this.
