That was a great idea Mr.Ram.
I like it.
The avatar you all are seeing is drawn by me.
Of course the original is from the novel "Parthiban Kanavu" by Great Kalki. Artiste Ma.Se (Maniam Selvan). _________________ Meendum Santhippom Viraivil...

Dear Mr.Venkat,
Nice to know your new AVATAR as an artist. Your reference to Parthiban Kanavu makes ms seek this. The rich writing of Kalki has no parallel. The magazine Kalki has repeatedly published it [may be the adage History repeats itself fits very well]. My point is, the first ever artist to have drawn those pictures was Mr. Maniam. Later, however his son filled the void caused by the demise of his father - Maniam. In any case we have a good artist in our club. Congrats .
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Madurai. _________________ Prof. K. Raman

Dear Mr. Venkat,
Beautiful drawing of yours Sir ! Are you an artist also ? the strokes are so perfect ! I am also another Kalki worshipper . Cant count how many times I would have read Ponniyin Selvan, Sivakamiyin Sabatham, Parthiban kanavu , the masterpiece being PS in my opinion. The greatness of Kalki is his high level of decency and decorum while describing a character& his ability to extract the same enthu. amongst readers despite each novel running to many years ! It was Kalki who made guys like me vivid history followers. Just for his description of Ajanta , I had been to Aurangabad twice and I make it a point to enthuse all my friends to see the wonderful site . |

Thanks a lot lot lot dear Prof. and Mr.Balaji.
I am a very big fan of Great Sri.Kalki and Great Sri.Maniam.
I have drawn lot of drawings from Ponniyin Selvan.
I am not a creative artist. I am a copying artist. Etho time kidaikumbothu varaiven by seeing other portraits, ads, cartoons, and Maniam's Ponniyin Selvan wonders, Maniam Selvan's art etc.,
Even I too can't count how many times I would have read Ponniyin Selvan, Sivakamiyin Sabatham, Parthiban kanavu, Alai Osai and many short stories.
Kalki avargalai pathi sollanumna, msvtimes mathiri kalkitimes web create pannavendiyathudhan...
I can compare "Kalki and Maniam" with "MSV and Kannadasan"
Thanks once again for the beautiful response. I am very much delighted. _________________ Meendum Santhippom Viraivil...

Dear Venkat
That was indeed a splendid creation. I am really proud to say here that am also a Kalki fanatic. Infact, am scared to even look at those 6 big volumes of Ponniyin Selvan these days as I cannot stop myself from reading them
What an epic ....!!! Thanks a lot for reminding...

Dear Mr.Venkat,
Thanks a lot.
I am really very glad to receive such responses.
I think I have read Ponniyin Selvan 8 times in full. But last time padichu romba years aagiyirukkum.
I think its time for me to take this wonder creation of the great Kalki for the ninth time.
MSV/Kannadasan and Kalki/Maniam are greats in their respective fields.
Thanks once again. _________________ Meendum Santhippom Viraivil...

Dear All,
I wud like to give some information about my new Avatar.
I sketched this by seeing the art by Maniam Selvan for the Great Kalki's Novel "Sivagamiyin Sabadham". Yes it is indeed the dancing queen "Sivagami"...
The Kalki magazine published again the full novel some years back. At that time Ma.Se. was the artist for this novel.
Hope u will like it... _________________ Meendum Santhippom Viraivil...

Sivakami ! what a character !! that episode just before the final one I can never forget. As the victorious Narasimha Pallava’s army marches proudly on the streets of Kanchi, finally the great Narasimha also appears on his chariot…. SIvakami with great difficulty tries to see him from her friend Kamali’s house top….She gets the worst shock of her life on seeing another gorgeous lady seated by his side. In utter disbelief, she queries her friend….Akka who is that beautiful Woman ? Kamali screams….Oh poor girl…don’t you know that she is Narasimha’s wife and the royal Queen…she is from Madurai etc etc….Now Sivakami realizes that everything is over …..
Just before this scene, Narasimha will visit that Aranya Veedu area and those favourite spots when the lovers used to spend their memorable moments …..he will recollect to his friend with a tinge of sadness….. all these are really emotional scenes….
THALAIPATTAL NANGAI THALAIVAN THAALE ….as Narasimha quietly walks out of the auditorium, the song Thalaipattal nangai is being performed by Sivakami who now has already devoted herself to Lord Ekambareshwarar……..
Oops…I am also getting emotional now….back to office work… |

Pallavan pallavi paadattume kelungo Madam !
IMO , MGR would have been a perfect match for Narasimha character ( with due respects to SVRangago ) but how can he fail on love ? |
