//அன்பு, நன்றி, கருணை கொண்டவன் மனித வடிவில் தெய்வம்//

Meenakshi Madam

Another philosophical pick . Your way of presentation is very crystal clear for readers. Cheers Very Happy What you have mentioned above is absolutely true !
IMO, learning a philosophy or an old poem is much easier through a cinema song & this song is a classic example . Kavignar's thoughtful 6 charanams coinciding with Lord Karthikeya's 6 faces is an extrordinary work that makes even an uneducated person to understand the morals of life & thats his greatness !.

NIlai uyarumbodhu paniva vandhal uyirgal unnai vanangum !! What a striking lyric !

As good as Gautama Buddha's famous quote : Desire is the root cause for all evil !

I think Kavignar's greatest contribution is his simplest way of conveying most difficult philosophies , the most powerful medium of Cinema !

The Mellisai Mannargal have once again downplayed their orchestration to honour one of the very best of lyrics of tamil cinema . Smile

Great post Madam Smile

Vinata , Cheers that you also like Devika , one of the evergreen stars of tamil cinema . Very Happy She has worked with all the top stars in the 60s & the grace and poise that she displayed was exemplary. Many Nadigar Thilagam fans still feel that she was the top ranked pair for him ( even Natiya peroli comes 2nd only ! ). I like watching Nenjil or alayam

Dear friends,
All of you have rightly fallen in love with these songs and with that fabulous Devika who had then stolen the limelight in all her movies. She was a totally different dimension among the then heroines who generally had the reputation of turning obese after a couple of movies [save Padmini]. In fact, Devika had teamed up with SSR in "Mudhalaali" as early as 1956. But it was not until 1961[ Paava Mannippu and Nenjil ore aalayam] that she became a sought after artiste by all Directors including those of Gemini studios. Her acting potential was brought to the fore by Sridhar in N O aalayam. Unlike many other cine artistes, Devika has had the blessings of what may be aptly called chiseled features. Also, she had a symmetric lay out of her face that was enjoyably balanced from every angle. What I mean is, many artistes look good in frontal or lateral view; but Devika had no such limitation of presentational constraints. How A.Vincent had presented her on the celluloid is a lesson by itself for aspirant photographers and cinematographers. Being a photographer myself, I am able to feel that Devika was enchanting by virtue of her sharp ending nose with nostrils never revealing themselves and a lower jaw slightly curved up to perfection making her an ideal object for captivating presentation. To-date, we have not had any one on comparable terms and she also had that lovable blend of fine acting ability to fortify her looks. Hence she has had the distinction of universal appeal. Thank you all for the opportunity.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Madurai.

i just compare a today product - we have lovely tech excellence in shooting ,recording ,and have all kind sof combos ,synthesisers, and organ .

but do we have a perosn to write in simple tamil few beauties of life and have a cleart cut voice like tms and last not but least a melodous tune

Dear Mr.Bhaskar,
Reading your awe about, KaNNadasan, N T ,MSV and TMS and the inevitability of launching a comparison to the present scenario, I feel like saying something. As far as I understand, any technology has faithfully robbed us of our innate skills. As evidence, 2 things can be cited. In olden days the whole list of Grocery items were summed-up by the shopkeepers mentally , no matter how long and wide the columns were. All school children were drilled to learn tables by rote. [ROTE LEARNING OF DESCRIPTIVE AND INTERPRETATIVE DOMAINS ARE BAD]. Ironically kids are not trained on right schedules. For tables they resort to calculators and for details they adopt memorizing. Also , we need to recall an earlier breed of office assistants known as Stenographers. They used to take notes from the boss and type-out error-free letters in chaste language that used to reflect rigid formalities without verbally expressing so. Now, computers are office equipment and the office assistant heavily relies on spell check, [s]he being not familiar with subtle usages. Is it not a fact that brain power has been eroded into, especially in domains of superior framing of statements and in the operation of choice vocabulary? At best, computers take care of physical lay out and features of font and line-spacing. They can not infuse ideas. This is precisely the severest of restrictions imposed on humans who have been groomed by gadgets and technology. All the earlier movie-makers, Cinematographers, MDs, Recordists and documentation assistants had to rely on personal skills and naturally their products stay fresh for years, while technology-dependent "creations" come and go as they are NOT PRODUCTS OF HUMAN SOULS.
I feel all our cine personnel should ponder for a while as to to why their lavish-budgeted items melt int thin air even before they settle the accounts. Products generated from the soul will rule the globe and if we do not recognize this fundamental criterion, then we have no reasons to look for quality any where especially in music which emanates only from the soul. I am no slave to comforts and therefore I am unable to tolerate those who donot wish to toil even for "creative"exercises.
Thank you for the opportunity.
WARM REGARDS. K.Raman Madurai.
