At the end, it was a memorable victory ! Cheers to the young Indian team which played fearless cricket & everyone contributed his best
Absolute team effort , one must say as in each match, a different individual had done well like Robin U doing well in match 1 against Pak, Turbanator exceptional in most of the matches, Viroo splendid in match 2 , Gautam G consistent & showed his maturity in the finals, Sreesantha continues to impress with his pace & swing , RP Singh real class performer, Yuvi , as outstanding and spirited as ever gave his best shot , even the new comer Rohit Sharma was stunning and has a cool temperament especially against South Africa and the finals ……
Dhoni , with his steely nerves , cool and composed , showed his ability to lead. Hopefully, he should bring more victories & be consistent….
Its more interesting to note when we realize that India had no past experience on 20-20 format unlike England or South Africa who have been regularly building their team for this event……
The best thing to happen was the exit of the 3 senior players which I think was the master stroke . Even if one of these guys had played, their past reputation would have been on the back of their mind which would have spoilt all chances… I think the Board itself would have told them to lay off voluntarily ( The Board had made a masterly move here )
It’s a magnificent victory and something we should cherish |

Dear Friends
It was a magnificent victory inspite of Harbhajan Singh. With 1 more ball from HBS, the inaugural cup would have had some unpalatable outcome. Another great contributor to down fall was Ajit Agarkar. Yet good things happened to us.

Not only the finals, throughout the series Indian Team displayed tremendous spirit and confidence. Just imagine - we did not have Ganguly, Sachin and Dravid in the team and yet we reached this amazing victory! Hope it is a new beginning and this trend continues !!!
Yuvi's Six Sixers in all Six Balls in an over, displayed an amazing talent. Way to go !!! _________________ Ramkumar |

Yes. 20-20 first cup was captured by India.
Both times India won by the mistake of Pakistan.
First time, India entered in 'Super-8' by beating Pak by 'bowled-out' method, when Pak failed to take one run from two balls.
And in final, in last over Pak need 13 in 6 balls, but we never think they will get 1 wide and 1 sixer in two balls. When there was 4 balls remaining Pak failed to take 6 runs.
But the real victory for India is beating Australia in semi and put a big fullstop for Aussies from entering final.
'pinna ennanga... ovvoru thadavaiyum avangale finalukku varanum, avangale cup vaanganumnu sattamaa enna?' (How can we forget the incident they were pushing Sharath Pavar when receiving ICC cup at Mumbai?)
In the total series, only one defeat for India, that is with Nwe Zealand in super 8.
Thank God, we got a cup without Sachin. If he was there, all the boneless tongues will tell because of Sachin only we got it. (even if Dravid and Saurav performed well, nobody even spell about them). |

Dear Irene,
There MSVs among cricketers too [ like Dravid /Ganguly]
only to perform and never to be apreciated or acknowledged. Kaliyugam at its peak. What else?
