Dear Mr. Parthavi,
Hearty Congratulations on your lofty hundred that came by in a spree of sorts. To be frank ,those who began just around the calendar year [2009] have been among the rapid fire performers and you are one. May this spirit stay on so that the site continues to be active.
Warm regards. Prof.K.Raman Madurai. _________________ Prof. K. Raman

Dear friends,
Thanks a lot for all your messages. But I feel that my contributions have not been significant. I have no knowledge of raagaas. I can't identify even popular musical instruments like the violin or the flute, when thy are played along with others. I am only a rasikan. I have ben captivated by film music from my childhood days. I think my initiation to film music started from my listening to 'sonna sollai marandhidalaamo vaa vaa vaa' casullly but passinately sung by my mother. I was mesmerized by VR songs and orchestration and had wondered how such magnificent orchestration can be created. Even today, when I hear a particular orchestral piece in the interlude of 'indha mandraththil oedi varum' I am stunned with a mixed feeling of amazement, ecstacy and awe. So, I have been deriving immense satisfaction by sharing my feelings about MSV magic with a group of people having similar feelings. For me, this is the only significane of my postings.
As per Mr. SR shankar's query, yes I am nearly of your age - 57 and have just crossed the half-way mark towards 58! I identify several people like M/s SR Shankar, Ramki, Raghavendran, Raman, Ramaswamy etc. as belonging to my age group. (I am sure there are several more) But what is surprising and heartening is to find several young people in the group, particularly Mr. Ram and (Kutti) Lakshmi, who, though not a formal member of the group, has a strong presence in the group!
Mr. Shankar has also raised a doubt about my name. 'Parthavi' is my login id (derived from my parents' names - Parthasarathy and Vijayavalli) My name is P R Swami (full name - P Rengaswami). I use the short name because I had horrible experiences, over the last 50 years, of my full name misspellt, misunderstood, mistaken and wrongly remmembered variously as Ramaswamy, Renganathan, Rengarajan, Rengasayee, Venkataswamy etc.) It was my mistake that I didn't use a signature in my initial messages and the name parthavi has stuck. I am changing my signature to my full name (the name given to me by 'parthavi' - my parents).
Regards.

Dear Mr. Pathavi
First of all my heartiest congrtulation to you for your land mark. Expecting many more writing from you. It is immaterial wheteher you know music or not. Forget that you are not able to identify a violin or fulte etc.
The most important aspect you had was the feel you get from a good music. That would not come to many. Otherwise you would not have written the posting 'MSV keeps the distance' where you have brilliantly displayed how he handles distance concept in muscial frame. Particularly impressive was the way you described the song 'Boomiyil Iruppadhum'.
Last Sunday night in the Prog 'Endrum MSV' MSV mentioned that in the song 'Aagaya Pandalile' he could have extended the musical form for the word 'Aagaya' further as the sky is in distance and hence not satisfied with the present. This showed he really took care in that kind of music for distance. I immediatlely remmebered you and your posting.
Unless one hears and enjoys 'soul heartedly' it is very difficult to bring out the truth in MSV'S songs.
Lakshmi played the song 'Chittukuruvikkenna' in her keyboard. I have given the youtube link in the 'lyric' subject.
Congrats Again.
