Ram... Thanks for starting up this thread. I am an ardent fan of AR Rahman. He has been my idol who inspired me to orient myself into music.

It really takes time to understand his compositions. By then, we would have realised that it has unconsicously entered in you. I personally feel Rahman has explored a lot in the various dimensions of music like melody, harmony, orchestration, arrangement and Sound engineering.

So much to say but before I continue.... let people add their inputs as well

A.R.Rahman is another great composer who re-defined the contemporary Indian Music, through completely different sounds. Each of his movies gave totally different music altogether; Roja, Thiruda Thiruda, Bombay, Gentle Man, Indian, Duet, Mudhalvan etc are movies which any music listener would never have experienced; My all-time Rahman favourite is "Uyire"; Truly amazing, futuristic music!!!!!!

Whats your Rahman favourite music???

What a soul stirring musical, Rahman bhaiyaa!

Emotive singing by Unni.
Carnatic rag - KHAMAS/Hindustani rag - KHAMAJ.
My favorite musical.
One mother's day, my son got me a SHINY, PORCELAIN HAND WITH A INSCRIPTION
Mother
God could not be everywhere

Felt very special, I cherish the thought & the gift dearly.

Orchestral serenity, WOW!
Every time I am profoundly moved by your soulful musical.
To all the wonderful, loving moms,
