Dear MSVians,

We all know that MSV has experimented with lot of instruments.

The simplest and probably the earliest instrument is the Bell(s). I tried to take count of no. of songs composed by MSV with prominent Bell(s).

1. Devan koil maNi Osai... from maNi Osai
2.AlayamaNiin Osaiyai nAn... from pAlum pazhamum
3. veLLi maNi Osaiyile.. from iru malargaL.
4.satti suttadhada ... from AlayamaNi

Can others join pls.

Dear All,

Velli mali osaiyile.. from iru malargal.
Aaha enna oru arpudhamana padal... arumayana selection...
This is another movie of our Music Monarch where each song is a class.
Another musical classic from our MM.
1. Madhavi Pon mayilal - carnatic
2. Mannika Vendugiren - modernized mesmerizing melody
Clarinet will be used in the first interlude
The same tone will be used with Flute in the second interlude
apart from Guitar, bongos, violin etc.,
3. Oru Kodiyil Iru malargal - sentimental
4. Maharaja oru Maharani - handling ventriloquism with beautiful PIANO in the interlude... wow...
5. Velli mali osaiyile - divine

Each song is different in its own style

Andavan Kattali:Satti Suttadhada...
Intha paatoda music will be extraordinary
Aaravara peigalellam odi vittadhada...
Aalayamani osai nenjil koodi vitadhada...
intha line varumbothu dhoorathula irunthu mani osai ketkum...
Paatu compose pannumpothu kooda dhoorathula irunthudhan mani osai adichanga pola... Smile

Another beautiful song.
Sathiya muthirai kattalai (PS from Kanne Paapa)
Opening starts with bells... what a piece...

Wow...
Amazing... MM
another masterpiece from our one and only MSV

The instrument is saxophone.

This song is from "kAnji thalaivan" and the MD is KVM.

"Oru Kodiyil Iru malargal - sentimental"
What I mean is PS and LRE paaduvanga...(Padmini and KRVijaya)
may be the wordings are wrong...
it something like
Oru Kodiyil Iru malargal... kan malarntha ... malargal...
if u know the exact wordings please mention...

Neenga sonna song enaku theriyum...
Oru Kodiyil Iru malargal malarnthathamma ... (I think MGR and Vijayakumari... am I right)

maNamEdai....malargaLudan deepam......the "swing" song has a lilting church bell sounded after the word maNamEdai....Beateous reminder of the christian background !!! Going deeper into the song, MSV has tuned the second stanza differently from the first for the same santhams written by kavignar. There is a beautifully endearing "drag" to the entire melody and as usual it is virtually impossible to put your finger on what made you fall in love with the song....was it the overall "sound", the feel, the tune itself, the perceived collective whole or is it something more ? Let us just enjoy the work Smile The second stanza underlines the oft-discussed, oft-mentioned facet of MSV, a master melody negotiator. Second to none !!! It is marvel, how MSV opens himself up for that "something" else to happen while composing , something out of the box that automatically imparts a character (or several characters) to the song. No grammer, theory oriented composer could have ever conceived of such a tune.

"Manamedai malargaludan...".
That was a very excellent analysis...
This song is one of my most favorite PS - MSV combination...
