Paatondru Ketten Paravasa Manen!- from Pasa Malar

One of the rarest of Piano Classics unleashed by our Master Creator. Piano starts with the lyric of the song then followed by Jamuna Rani's sweet voice. The interludes are master crafted with rock & roll tunes with double bass, piano, violins and not to forget the chorus voice that gets literally cocktailed with the song. A fabulous number that can even be played in present days' disco theques! Quite an amazing composition this!

Cheers
vaidy

There are many old songs available at www.musicindiaonline.com (streaming audio) and www.cooltoad.com (mp3). Talking of cooltoad, would anyone by any chance know Surakravathanee who probably lives in Malaysia / Singapore? That person appears to have a HUUUUGE collection of songs...

Cheers

Dear Vaidy,

Few other songs which I readily remember, where the Master has effectively used Jamuna Rani, are "Neeyo Naano Yaarn Nilave" from "Mannadhi Mannan" and "Otrumayay Vazhvadhale Undu Nanmaye" & "Attam, Attam" from "Baagap Pirivinai".

While referring to the song "Attam, Attam", if any layman listens to this song, he will be amazed and may refuse to accept that the song was composed in the year 1959. What a usage of Trumpets, Guitar, Violins, etc. Simply wonderful. Hats off to the Master again.

With Luv,
Venu Soundar

Exactly Ram Very Happy I dont know which thread has to be seen ! I am seeing songs being analyzed in depth everywhere & all of them are scintillating numbers

The little master of melody has tuned innumerable noof songs & the ones belonging to the 60s are the clear winners IMHO.

Dear Vaidy, Indeed, Paatondru keten is a beauty , a different composition altogether by the duo . The real beauty is when Jamuna Rani completes every word during the charanam, there will be a piano chord to alternate ! Its nice bit of improvisation !

Also the picturisation. Nadigar Thilagam romba romba urchagamaga vaasipaar !

Thanks for the excellent pick .
