Dear Balajee,

You have written beautifully on a equally beautiiful song. After reading the write up the songs echos in our eyes, the scenes comes back vividly in a flash and most importantaly the time the period of the bygone 1960s where there was quality in every field music composition, singing, acting, picturisation, moves, direction and what not.

We are lucky atleast we are able to listen to those evergreen melodies and even see on CDs/DVd etc.

This song is one iof the priceless number that the due had composed which will never be forgotten by MSV fans till their breath lasts.

Ramki, many thanks for your kind words. It is only a true piece of art that gently coaxes and cajoles one to dig deeper within oneself and discover new paradigms of appreciation. It is life enriching and nourishing.

What has often me left me speechless is yet another aspect of MSV's compositions. Choice of the right note, tonality, the 'dhoni' for the tunes. In 'ninaithhAl sirippu varum' from Bhama Vijayam...a perfect way to start the song for the right feel. The charanam 'nee AdachhonnAl'....can there be a better note, dhoni to start with ? Spellbinding !!!! MSV searches for the right feeling to rake up within you like the careful plucking at strings of a tanpoora, except MSV touches the precise nuance of the feeling to be conveyed and never removes his finger till the song is over Smile In the song featured, please listen and enjoy the tone with which the charanam starts...'Adiya nAdagam mudiyavillai...' , so apt and appropriate expressing an almost reflective way of delving into the innards of the issue that the pallavi has portrayed. What else is the functionality of a charanam anyway ? !!!! ? Hope the present day masqueraders open their ears and hearts to "why MSV did what".

As far as Carnatic musicians are concerned, their excessive accumulated knowledge prevents them from receiving anything new innocently. Anything that is thrown their way is analyzed and compared/matched with what they already know, typically raaga analysis. What if the composer in question is a MSV, irreverent, path breaking, rebellious, someone who places aesthetics and feelings above dry musical grammer ?!!? MSV's music hovers way above the insular minded self-righteous. Head over heart, please choose heart and enjoy MSV's music Smile

Dear Balaji, Venky, Vatsan, Ramki,

I think the lull the site was experiencing in the last couple of weeks has finally been broken with great analysis by Balaji & Vatsan. Ennappa Vatsan thideernu kaana ma poidurey, then you land up with a master piece on the Master. Totally unpredictable your path (like Our Master's tunes, no wonder you narrate your experience this way!!! Very Happy ). As one of our members RVS Mani puts in absolute sense, "If you listen to MSV, you can't listen to others and if you listen to others you can't understand MSV!!! What an asserting statement that counters and very effectively puts an end to all kinds of arguements!!! Wah Wah MSV, there is nothing that could move this world except your Mellifluous Melodies (a new difinition for MM yeah). Guys I sincerely thank all of you for making the world understand the World of MSV better and making our site reverberate once again.

LONG LIVE THE UNDISPUTED KING OF MELODIES
CHEERS
MSV IS MUSIC
VAIDY

Dear Vaidy / Ramky,

Can we get some nostalgia from the Master about this song pls ?

Keen to know those behind the screen crew members who played Guitar, Drums, Sarangi during this song .

Probably they may also throw more light on how the song was composed, how notes were given to crew & how many takes were made to complete.

A real masterpiece from MSV-TKR

Hi Ram,

Its basically the music of the Master which makes us write .

I thought it will be more appropriate if the video link is also provided to this incomparable song :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tC49mPEo68

Its a synchronization of 3 giants ...... MSV-TKR , Nadigar Thilagam , Kaviarasar . Look at the way NT nonchalantly sings and puffs !
The song is complete is all aspects.

...with a small correction, 4 Giants.
3 + the great T.M.Soundarrajan, a God's gift to our Tamil cine music.
