DEAR FRIENDS
Between late1960s and mid 1970s MSV had carved out a number of songs pairing PS and LRE . That genre of songs are distinct for propelling the movie tempo employing a variety of nuances in lyric, singing and orchestration. I know several of them but leave the issue for friends to open that trasure house. Come on enjoy.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Navi Mumbai

Dear All,

PS & LRE are giants in their own ways. Some of the best orchestrated club songs by our Master would naturally go to LRE. What a husky voice identified by MSV!!! PS ofcourse is MSV's most favourite singer. By the way Bhaskar, Thulabharam is by G. Devarajan and not MBS (Sharadha was right). That reminds me of a great song by MBS, another great composer. My most favourite picks would be - Thennnangeetru Oonjaliley, an absolute beauty sung by PBS & SJ and the other song is Yeriyiley Oru Kashmir Roja sung by PS & KJY. Real class of a melody.

Vaidy Sir is right!!!!

But, our EMPEROR, as usual tried some experimentations in exchanging them also.. For example, in "Kaasethaan Kadvulada", LRE grabs the duet with KS ("Mella Pesungal"), while PS does a "peppy" number("Indru vantha Intha Mayakkam"). Both of them were ultimate. Anything similar ? Please let me know.

Not similar, but it is another way...

Both two singers sung for two heroines in same movie.

In 'Ragasiya Police 115'

P.Suseela - for Jayalalitha (kanne kaniye, enna porutham, sandhanam kungumam konda) and for V.A.Nirmala (unnai enni ennai marandhen)

L.R.Eswari - for Jayalalitha (paal thamizh paal) and for Nirmala (kannil therigindra vaanam)

Dear Sarada mam,
Thre are many songs by PS and LRE of which there is a chilling number
'Palaadai Maeni Panivaadai kaatril' in ANUBAVI RAAJA ANUBAVI of KB. As ever MSV has brilliantly set the tune with just minimum instruments. But, both the singers have lived through the song in that salubrious Courtallam falls. Kavignar has deliberately used the real names of the actresses adding further pep -O Rajee [Rajasree] and O- Nimmee [Nirmala].MSV has availed of such sequences composing songs of totally different genre. Now analysts may add their embellishments to this number. More numbers would follow later.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Navi Mumbai

One more Prof Sir.... where they sing for two heroines in the same movie, but entirely in a different music background...

"Ninaithaal Sirippu Varum" in "Bama Vijayam".. PS for Kanjana, the song in a slow, seductive pace, suddenly picking up tempo for LRE singing for Nagesh's pair in "Ninaithaal Sirikka Vaipen"..

Dear Sarada mam,
Thank you for rectifying my bad memory. The song was from Poova Thalaiya. Also, I did not point out the missing number. In fact, it was just the song that came to my mind, from among those nearly lost in deep memory. Any way still there are a number of items that need analysis. [Meanwhile I stand corrected]Movies PACHAI VILAKKU AND KODIMALAR DO HAVE NUMBERS from the same pair by MSV . "Pattonru tharuvaar padadiyamma", Thoodu solla oru thozhi illaiena" from PV while 'Kannu padappogudhu'is from KM. If I am wrong please correct it. In all these cases, both the singers have given excellent demonstration of voice articulation for portraying a mood. What is astonishing is, all of them have, on various occasions acknowledged that what they have given is far less than what MSV trained them for! As Mr Vaidy recalls even those with Amnesia have uniformly spoken of this. Thank you all for the opportunity. Warm regards, Prof.K.Raman Navi Mumbai
