Vannakkam pala murai sonnen!! to core team and members.

VANNAKKAM-- song from the film Avan oru charitithiram --Our MSV. could give a superhit song in late 70's even after non-stop
HITS MAZHAI for almost 25 years. He stars firing on all cylinders in the prelude itself which is the highlight of the song. A male chorus followed by Brass and Drums in full flow, suddenly descending again with male chorus and humming (AAlaP) of P.S. He aptly combines Thavil with Tabala, as the song depicts our culture. After the melodious P.S. singing the first charanam ,He lifts the tempo to great heights with the second interlude again with Brass ,Drums,Violins and descends to finish the interlude with Flute and Tabala for the majestic voice of T.M.S. to sing the second charanam.
In the same period ,one can find MSV adopting the ssame style in the interlude before he introduces TMS-SIVAJI COMBO. The other two great songs with similar style are -
ANBU NADAMADUM --AVANTHAN MANITHAN.
NALLATHORU KUDUMBAM --THANGA PADAKKAM
All the 3 songs are great COMBO of MSV<TMS, PS,KANNADASAN.
The other melody from the same film AMMANAI sung by TMS,VANI JAYARAM is a contrast with double Shenoy used in interlude BGM sh0ws his versatality in giving Duet numbers in the same film.

Nice of you Sir to remember the interlude of Thangapadhakam, at the end of which Shivaji enters with a big bang in the voice of the Great TMS. It was only a small bit of interlude, but that gives enough thrust for the Hero to enter in the song. And one should see the style of Shivaji's grace in his dance and simple steps in that song. AMAZING.

And what more to add about the songs of AVAN THAN MANIDHAN. That is a film with all superhit songs. Kannil thanneer vara vaikum AATUVITHAL YARORUVAR, Philosophy alli thellikkum MANITHAN NINAIPATHUNDU, Kavingar "May" yenra varthaiyileye anaithu padal varigalaiyum muditha padalaana ANBU NADAMADUM, migavum thullalana paataga OONJALUKKU POOCHOOTI. What a variety of songs in a film of 1970s.

Dear Muthukrishnan uncle ,
You have chosen an apt song as I assume this being your first post on some specific song and you start with "VANAKKAM VANAKKAM VANAKKAM........ Palamurai sonnaen sabhayinar Munnaey..."

Wow what a way to start posting...... Am really amazed !!! Hats Off !!!

This is again another instance where in it proves that our Master's songs can be applied to any situation in our life !!!!! There are numerous songs that can be related to our own life....I am sure everyone experiences this everyday....

The most fascinating feature of the song "ANBU NADAMADUM KALAIKOODAMEY" is the Amazing Brass section that comes in the 3rd BGM along with numerous violins and flute......and TMS starts the 3rd charanam with "Maanilam Ellamum Namm Illamey...."

what say Vaidhy uncle ?????!!!

Keep up the Good Work !!!

MSV RULES !!!

Venki

"Naan Nandri Solven"

"Vanakkam Pala Murai" a wonderful song by MSV! I've seen this as the first song in MSV's stage programmes. Thanks for bringing this to the light.

DEAR ALL,

WHAT A NUMBER "VANAKKAM PALAMURAI SOLVEN".ONE OF THE MARVELS IN ABOGI.AND AND WHAT AN EDUPPU BY TMS IN "VANNATHILAGANGAL".I COULD RECOLLECT THIS AS ONE OF THE VERY FEW SONGS WHERE HE HAS HANDLED THE4 RAAGA ALMOST PURELY BUT STILL BROUGT OUT DIFFERENT EFFECT BY THE WAY OF STUPENDOUS ORCHESTRATION WITH THE UNIQUE CHORUS WHICH SOUNDS CLASSICALLY JAZZY.

INCIDENTALLY,THE MOVIE HAS THE OTER MARVEL IN DHARMAVATHY,THE UNSURPASSABLE "AMMANAI".

RAM,HOW IS THE PROJECT OF UPLOADING OF MORE SONGS OF THE MASTER PROGRESSING?

Hi All,

Here Vaidy once again. Vanakkam Palamurai Sonnen- listen to the great prelude of chorus voice followed by a brass section- possible only by MSV. I like the way how TMS takes off- Vanna thilagangal oli veesum mugangal..... Beautiful song. Bravo Muthukrishnan!!!

MSV SCORES FOREVER

Muthukrishnan

I remember Vanakkam palamurai being played extensively those days & well discussed for the raga element also !

As Vaidy pointed out exactly, TMS with a gambeeram starts his part & Nadigar Thilagam adds flavour with his customary shoulder twisting & throat movements with precision . Will appear Shivaji himself had sung that song ! Very Happy
