|
Dear All,
I am sure all those present yesterday during the re-launch of "Thrilling Thematic Tunes" were thrilled to see our Legend on stage. Though the members of msvtimes.com have toiled over the last couple of weeks to get this event going, there has been a gross omission on the part of Sa Re Ga Ma in not ensuring that the CD that was released was checked for it's quality. The source tracks given by Tuticorin Ramesh ought to have been checked before mass copies were produced.
On my return from the venue after this event last night, when I played the CD in my car, there were huge hissing noises in the background that literally spoiled the listening pleasure. I am writing this in order to inform members of our site not to distribute this CD and ensure it is done after all these issues were sorted out. Sa Re Ga Ma must also ensure these defects are rectified before they hit the stands. All the "thrills" associated with this event to say the least was short lived.
The evening otherwise was absolutely pleasant with Krishna stealing the show all the way with his impeccable reproduction of MSV's behaviour at the recording studios. GS Mani's observation on how the classical music in the traditional attire of "pachakacham & kudumi" took a new avatar into a "3 piece suit" by the sheer innovation of MSV was the highlight of the evening. If there was the elder brother who brought down the tempo of our Vaarthaigal Sollum Vaathiangal, it was the turn of the younger brother this time. Pulavar Pulamai Pithan & Muthuramalingam were spontaneous with their outbursts. HMV Ragu who was charged with emotions found it difficult to begin but shared some real nostalgic moments during the recording of TTT. Muktha Srinivasan was also crisp in his speech making the evening yet another "moments of MSV" - golden moments.....

Dear friends,
While playing the CD on Sunday, I could notice that it did not possess good enough bass. I again checked at home today, and yes, it is low. Of course, VK sir was informing us in the auditorium that the order of tracks mentioned in the back cover was not correct, with some tracks repeating or half-recorded. Overall, the evening was fine with the presence of many stalwarts along with our own MM gracing the stage...

Hi,
As Mr Vaidy has mentioned, the audio quality is poor with scratchy sound, low bass effect, etc. Also, the order of tunes mentioned on the CD cover is incorrect. The CD should be sold in the market only after making necessary corrections and improvisations.
Otherwise, it was a wonderful evening and the function went off in a grand manner. Hats off to every one involved in organizing it in such a nice manner. Unfortunately, due to shortage of time, we could not hear some of the dignitaries talking at more length about their experiences with MSV.
Please find below the link to the pictures that I took at the function:

Thanks a lot Mr Sai and Mr Rengaswamy for your compliments.
Yes Mr Rengaswamy, I also noticed the MSV Evergreen hits, consisting of 6 songs. Except 'Engeyum Eppodhum', audio quality of the other 5 songs are really good.
Here's the link to another MSV Hits collection, consisting of 9 songs (videos):
