Dear Friends,
Leaving aside the orchestral majesty of MSV, this time let us infer certain niceties played up by MSV, by touching the buds on nerve centres of the listener by according a specific 'treatment' to some words on a lyric frame, purely as a strategy of 'bringing out' the intent of the lyricist with whom MSV has to decorate as well as decode the emotion.

Here are some spots; yes, only spots with the clear suggestion that any other spot could as much be considered as there are innumerable of those through a song.
'anubhavam pudhumai' of "K N" by PS PBS
Even as the as the pallavi lines close, MSV infuses the mood through
La la Lala lala - a strategy usual to final winding up. But, its placement at the opening of the song before the male voice opens is a sure signal of playing up the romantic mood. Also he has cleverly reciprocated the male emotion through some lusty whistling [MS Raju], as PBS completes the pallavi segment.
Look at this silent or polite? embellishment in the charanam , even before the lines are sung by the female. I draw your attention to the caressing whisper 'kaNNenna kaN endru aruginil avan vandhan' which is sung to the normal decibel again by PS herself. This is is a new approach of suggesting romantic frame of mind at a place where intimacy between persons is revealed. IN THE SAME SONG, HE HAS NOT USED WHISPER in any other spot- a clear indication that MSV accords top value to the mood. Also, MSV has used the style of repeating the closing phrase at charanam though in the second time the phrases in the end part are scaled down in pace to decorate them with wavy undulation as an 'unwilling to close' mood of the lovers in the tangle. as for instance 'idhu mArA thendrAn, again in the repeat 'mArA the n draaaaan makes it obviously an unstated statement more meaningful than the words suggest.
We are avoiding any reference to the orchestral strategies, just to understand how in the very structuring of the song , MSV peps the mood up by specific treatment to the select spots. More to foloow.
Warm regards K.Raman Madurai

Dear Professor,
Yes, an unusual way for a song, but very natural way to convey the mood. The pace, though sounds slow, is actually not very slow, as it appears! But, the way he has composed and played with words, treating the lines with softness, some hum, and some whisper, makes us probably believe the song to be 'very' slowly paced! What a beauty! Sir, you have touched all the important nuances conveyed in the song so nicely!
