Dear All,

While there is a thread that opened up the Padma Award rejection by S. Janaki, the core issue remains intact and will ever remain so.

It is a world known fact that Shri. MSV has been in the industry for the past record breaking 7 decades and that his contribution to the film industry is so immense that it still remains unchallenged. He has not only been a trend setter for his contemporaries but due to absolute lack in spontaneous creativity there is not even a shade of a person whom we can call his contemporary today. Leave alone creativity, are we able to listen to this music & have a peaceful sleep? Such is the total deterioration in the quality of music for which crores of rupees is being pumped in. There is also a dangerous situation of all computer savvy programmers turned music directors ruling the roost today.

The film industry which is rallying behind Kamala Hasan for his Vishwaroopam controversy, service tax related protests and many more such protests of various forms have not even taken cognizance of this monumental neglect. While there can be no two opinion between the members of both the film & the music fraternity as far as Shri. MSV's contribution to this tinsel world is concerned, sadly big names like SPB, TMS, PS, Vani Jayram, PBS, Janaki, Yesudas AVM Saravanan & the likes or for that matter Ilayaraja, Deva, A.R. Rahman have neither campaigned nor raised their voices to be heard in New Delhi except for their mild utterances amongst themselves.

With the advent of MSVTIMES.COM, the industry suddenly woke up to reality. Even now, the protests are not that heartfelt but a reluctantly expressed feeling born out of compulsion than anything else. If the feeling was true that Shri. MSV had been wantonly ignored, then the winners of the Padma awards earlier ought to have rejected them like S. Janaki. Sadly this was not done but, those who bagged it went quietly & got it. That being the situation, these outbursts may not serve any purpose other than making a news. Some of our best comedians never were recognised while the late entries were freely given Padma awards for which they never qualified.

Too late, too little & too trivial an issue to be raked up now for, a recognition delayed for any reason is as good as denied. As MSV -ians, let's all bask under the glory of listening to our Legend's creations as our life is not enough to complete this exercise. Let's treat this issue as closed once & for all.

CHEERS

MSV IS MUSIC!!!

VAIDYMSV

S. Janaki's claim for Bharat Ratna shows her arrogance. MSV's observation, "But forget about me. Poet Kannadasan, actor-singer Chandrababu, actor Thangavelu and many more such stalwarts have not been decorated with this honour" shows not only his humility but also his greatness and magnanimity, something missing in people like SJ, with an inflated ego.
