Dear Friends,
So far we have been looking at the duo for various dimensions. Still, the awe keeps expanding by the magnitude of their contribution to a movie's success. The right perception about them could be made if we consider the two in isolation; KD /MSV in some other combination. Certainly the two have shown their class with other counterparts with good lyric/ music respectively.

On an assessment of totality, the two stand out as the best combo though they have managed same individual success. Any number of movies have made it to the box office more on the strength of songs.

Some of them are ''Nenjam marappadhillai'', ''VeNNira aadai'', ''veeraththirumagan'', ''Dheerga sumangali'', ''Santhi nilayam'', ''Sivandha maN'', ''ponnoonjal'' ''rAmu'', ''nil gavani kAdhali'', ''anubhavam pudhumai'', and so on.

These are just a few samples; a stark case was that of ''ooty varai uravu'' and later ''seer varisai''. The latter had excellent songs but failed due to the long production delays. Another example is that of JPC's ''thattungaL thirakkappadum'' or that of Savithri's ''prAptham''.

In all these movies songs were rich ; somehow failed in viewership; Possibly, the songs raised such a big euphoria that Directorial inadequacies did in the prospects. An explanation can be: the then audience were fastidious and would not grant the mercy of 'acceptance' for a celluloid item. That is why if we happen to see such 'failed' movies now in TV, we can notice logical approaches to the story and events, though these were felt inadequate by then cine-goer.

Still none can find displeasure with those songs; then, songs were the lone ambassadors or promoters creating 'expectancy' in minds. In that domain KD- MSV did their very best irrespective of the returns.
Please add your observations

Warm regards K.Raman Madurai.
