The boyish Hero of the late1960s Mr. Ravichandran is no more; but he has had perhaps the best that any cine star can aspire for. Though not among the most talented, his career opened in Colour movie [Kadhalikka Neramillai] as a happy go lucky guy blessed to sing "nALAm nALAm thiru nAlAm", "anubhavam pudhumai", "Unga ponnAna kaigaL", "nenjaththai aLLi konjam"-all in his very first movie; after a long gap reappeared in "Idhaya Kamalam" again with some excellent numbers well executed for orchestration, [then unusual of KVM], Appeared with grand numbers of "uTHTHARAVINDRI UllE Va",
Breathtaking songs o f 'nee', 'kumarippeNN' and the lone duet 'kAthtirungha kaNgaLe" in 'motor sundharam piLLai" of Gemini to name a few. Obviously he was among the most blessed to have had excellent numbers from most MDs of his career, of course topped by MSV in terms of numbers and quality.
May his soul rest in peace

Even TKR whose compositions have been generally lacklustre has given some good songs to Ravichandran in Madras to Pondicherry, Naan and Moondrezhuththu. _________________ P Rengaswami (9381409380)

Dear Mr. Parthavi,
You are quite right. This is what I meant saying that he was a blessed actor ; also, the songs scored for 'adhEy kaNgaL', albeit being adaptations from Hindi, somehow appealed to Tamil audience as fresh numbers. It was perhaps a deviation by M/S AVM to have engaged Mr. Veda as the MD for the movie till which time he was scoring almost exclusively for Modern theatres' movies as their 'aasthAna'MD. Putting together all these and the songs in movie "Sabadham"scored by GK Venkatesh also made an impact then, Songs and Ravi proved good foils. Obviously Mr.Ravichandran had the divine blessings that at one stage he was reckoned 'silver jubilee hero= veLLi vizhA nAyagan'. As his luck would also have it, only some deeper study reveals the utility of this person who was almost taken for granted as of no serious consequence to the moviedom. Certainly he had all the ingredients -briskness, streamlined physique, dance movements and swift turn around in fight sequences that are at once vital for any hero. With no graphics to manipulate, those people did sustain quality at least in hindsight now.
