Dear Mr. Raghavendran, the information on Sun Direct having a separate channel for old film songs is 'music' to my years, though I don't have Sun Direct (or any other DTH connection.) This is because, since long I have been feeling sad that the World Space Radio, while having separate channels for carnatc music and old Hindi songs has not considered it necessary to have a separate channel for old Tamil film songs. Now Sun Direct has fulfilld this need.
I had earlier expresssed through this forum the need for a separate TV channel for MSV. I hope someone will do this. I would do it myself, if I have the means!

In today's (Nov 2nd, 2009) episode of 'ennoodu paattup paadungal' retelecast in Jaya TV at 5.30, MD Ramesh Vinayagam was one of the judges. After a participant sang 'Kelviyin Naayagane' (Apprva Raagangal), Ramesh Vinaayagam remarked, "MSV composes tunes befitting the situation. In most of the cases, we can't identify the raagaa in which he has composed. the song. We can identify the raagaa in IR's compositions. But with MSV, this is almost impossible. This is something special about MSV, which has to be mentioned." But SPB was in a hurry to call the next singer and did not give time to Ramesh to elaborate. (In fact, he had called the next singer, even when RV started making his remark.) Ramesh had to rush up. Anyway, he made his point loud and clear.

1 .சுமதி என் சுந்தரி - பொட்டு வைத்த முகமோ --இந்த பாடல் முதலில் பாலமுரளி பாடுவதாக இருந்து, கடைசியில் நான்
பாடினேன்
பிறகு , அதனுடைய நுட்பங்களை பாடி , போட்டியாளருக்கு விவரித்தார்

2 . நிழல் நிஜமாகிறது - இலக்கணம் மாறுதோ - இந்த பாடல் 2 - 9 கால்ஷீட் இல் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டது . இரவு 11 .30 மணிக்கு
ஒரு போன் . மெல்லிசை மன்னர் ... டே பாலு (என்னை எப்போதும் அப்படி கூப்பிட மாட்டார் . எப்போதும் பாலு கண்ணா அல்லது பாலு அவர்களே என்று தான் கூப்பிடுவார் .) எனது பாட்டுக்கு உயிர் கொடுத்துட்டே , என்று அழுதார் சங்கீத சரஸ்வதியின்
மறு உருவம்,, இது ஒரு படைபாளியின் அதீத சந்தோசம் .
அவருடைய போன் கால்

i was also very moved with this information , when i listened this .
i take this oppurtunity to register what i learnt from the master :
i have heard the master , telling musicians " thank you ,pack off ". after the recordings.
( i follow the same with my subordinates and workers after seeing this many times during my younger days- thanks to MM .

நேற்று (15 /12 /09 ) விசு தன்னுடைய திரும்பிபார்கிறேன்- ஜெயா டிவி யில்;

குடும்பம் ஒரு கதம்பம் பாடல் உருவாக்கம் பற்றி - முக்கியமாக கவியரசு பற்றி , ஆனால் கவியரசு -இசையரசு நட்பு அதில் தெரியும் ;
குடும்பம் ஒரு கதம்பம் -டைட்டில் பாடல் - spm போக முடியாததால் நான் போனேன் - கதைகரு சொல்ல
கம்போசிங் ரூம் இல் விஸ்வநாதன் மற்றும் , இசை குழுவினர் இருந்தனர் .
கண்ணதாசன் வந்தார் . என்ன விசு , TUNE க்கா இல்லை வரிக்கா என்றார் .எம் எஸ் வீ - வரிக்குத்தான் என்றார் .
கவியரசு SITUATION சொல்லுங்க என்றார் . நான் இந்த பாடல் situation -ஆ , இல்லை முழு படம் கருவா என்றேன் .
இது டைட்டில் சாங் தானே , முழு கதை கருவும் சொல்லுங்க என்றார் .
நான் கதை சொல்ல ஆரம்பித்தேன் , கண்ணதாசனோ , MSV தொடையை கிள்ளினார் , மியூசிக் பார்ட்டியுடன் பேசினார் . பின்னால் திரும்பி பேசினார் எனக்கு மனதுக்குள் சந்தேகம் ..அவர் கேட்கிறாரா இல்லையா என்று
நான் கதை சொல்வதை நிறுத்தினால் , ம்ம் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார் . .
ஆனால் நான் சொல்வதை கவனிபதாகவேத் தெரியவில்லை.. நான் கதை சொல்லிமுடித்தவுடன் , பாட்டு எழுது என்று சொல்லி குடும்பம் ஒரு கதம்பம் என்று முழு பாடலையும் அரை மணிநேரத்தில் tune போட்டு முடிக்கப்பட்டது .
என்னிடம் ஓகே வா என்று கேட்டார் .
நான் பாடல் நன்றாக வந்திருகிறது , ஆனால் , என்று சரணத்தில் ஒரு சந்தேகம் கேட்டேன் . கணவன் ஒரு பாதை , தேவி ஒரு பாதை . இதில் எதற்கு குழந்தைக்கு ஒரு பாதை என்று கேட்டேன் . அப்போது கண்ணதாசன் ஹாஸ்டலில் இருந்து குழந்தை வருமல்லவா என்று , நான் சொன்ன கதையே என்னிடம் சொன்னார் . அப்போது தான் உணர்ந்தேன் , அவர் கடவுளின் அருள் பெற்றவர் என்று .
இதில் நாம் கவனிக்க வேண்டியது கவியரசு இசைஅரசு - கம்போசிங் போது விளையாடுவது .இதை நிறைய பேர் சொல்ல கேட்டிருப்போம் .
கண்ணதாசன் எம் எஸ் வீ யின் , இடுப்பை கிள்ளி சீண்டுவார் என்றும் ,எம் எஸ் வீ துள்ளி குதித்து தப்பிபார் என்றும் . .இது மற்றும் ஒரு உதாரணம் ..
எத்தனையோ சம்பவங்கள் ,இந்த மாதிரி நடந்திருக்கும் . எத்தனையோ ஜாம்பவான்கள் இதை அனுபவித்து ரசித்திருப்பார்கள், ஆனாலும் ஏன் ஒருவரும் அதை படமாக்கவில்லை - எவ்வளவு நஷ்டம் இது

Dear Ram,
Why shall not we ourselves show the way? In our next anniversary, why shall not we constitute an award in the name of our Master and honor a selected musician/ composer with that award?

for the last two weeks, Actor - Director - Script Writer M.R.Viswanathan alias VISU gave nice account of his career with respect to drama and entry into films to establish a niche for him.

He narrated an incident when he met Kavingnar Kannadasan for getting a title song for the film Kudumbam Oru Kadambam. the director SPM told visu to meet kannadasan along with MSV for finalising the song.

When kavingnar entered the room he enquired everyone and asked visu to narrate the story. When he was narrating the story kavingnar was not attentive at all. He was hitting the lap of MSV sir and started looking around and this made mr.VISU to think that he is not showing interest in hearing.

When visu stopped narrating the story, kavingnar asked is it over ?
Visu said yes. Then kavingnar turned to his assistant and dictated the song.

Mr. visu was stunned by his flow of words and he gave explanation for each n every word in tune with the total script.

Ofcourse it was sung by MSV Sir and it became a big hit. The lyrics along with the lilting tune narrated the whole story in a lucid style.

At that time itself kavingnar mentioned in the song "Iruvar uzahaithal Than inn naalil pasi theerum" really his foresightedness it amazing .

Then while directing his movie, produced by Director KB in the banner of kavithalaya he advised visu to have strong support in the areas of camera, music and editing and a good associate director for the success of the movie and being a first one for visu.

When he mentioned the names of Balakrishnan for camera MSV Sir for Music and N.R. Kittu for editing, Visu told director KB that he has decided in mind already for the film Manal Kaiyuru ( drama written by visu in the name Modi Masthan) his first directorial venture.

இந்த பாடல் உருவாக்கும் பொழுது , குறிப்பிட்ட வரிகளை எம் எஸ் வீ அங்கிள் ஓகே செய்யவே இல்லை .
கண்ணதாசன் , கடைசியில் , நான் யாரைப பற்றி பாடல் எழுத வேண்டுமோ அவர்களை கூட்டி வரச்சொல் என்றர்ராம்
நான் இருக்கும் இடத்திற்கு ஸ்ரீதர் கம்பெனியில் இருந்து கார் வந்து கூட்டிவந்தது
நான் வந்து பார்க்கும்போது , கண்ணதாசன் , விஷ்ணு போல் , வெள்ளை மெத்தையின் மீது படுத்திருந்தார் .
எதிரே எம் எஸ் வீ அங்கிள் , ஹார்மோனியத்துடன், உட்கார்ந்து இருந்தார் . நான் போனவுடன் , என்னை பார்த்த கண்ணதாசன் பாடல் வரிகளை எழுதி கொடுத்துவிட்டார் . எம் எஸ் வீ அங்கிள்-ம உடனே மெட்டு போட்டு கொடுத்தார்
அந்த வரிகள் :

மாவடு கண்ணல்லவோ
மைனாவின் மொழியல்லவோ
பூவின் நிறமல்லவோ
பொன் போன்ற முகமல்லவோ

இதிலிருந்து , நமக்கு தெரிவது , பலமேதைகள் ஈகோ பார்க்காமல் , பாடல்களை உருவாகியதால்தான் , காலம்காலமாய் நிலைத்து நிற்கின்றது . இன்றும் , என்றும்
